Certificate by State:
The field of criminal justice has a lot of good things going for it. You get to make a difference in people’s lives. Some of the professions put you in a position to help the helpless. One of the many good things we like is that you can get into some of the careers with a certificate.
There are two types of certificate you can get in the field of criminal justice. Any of them will get you entry level jobs in the profession. For example, a certificate in legal assisting will get you entry level job as paralegal assistant.
The second type of certificate in criminal justice is a professional certificate. This type of certificate gives you specialized training in the filed. For example, you can get a certificate in crime scene analysis. It’s a certificate for people that are already in the criminal justice field but want in depth training on analyzing crime scenes. If you are already in the profession and are applying for such position, this certificate will give you advantage over your competition.
You can get a certificate in about 3 to 6 months. When you consider that you can get entry level jobs or gain an advantage over your competition, it’s a good investment of your time and money.
It is worth noting that certificate holders make more money than high school diploma holders. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that certificate holders or people with training below associate degree make on the average $81 more per week than people with high school diploma. This is big over a lifetime of earning.
It is also worth noting that certificate holders find jobs more than people with high school diploma. According to the BLS, the unemployment rate for certificate holders is 8.7% while that of high school diploma holders is 9.4%, as of this writing. So a certificate does indeed pay in many ways.
