What is a CIA Agent?:
Who would not want the life of James Bond (007)? It’s a life of fast cars and beautiful women. A CIA agent is the James Bond of real life spying.
CIA agents lead secret lives. They could be amongst you without you knowing it. In fact, a coworker of yours could a CIA agent. They are bound by the nature of the job not to tell you. Fortunately for us, most agents work overseas gathering intelligence for the US government.
The Central Intelligence Agency and its agents are responsible for the following:

3. Actively Participate in the Intelligence Community Analytical Efforts that Affect National Security
4. Counteract Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism Activities
5. Counteract International Organized Crime and Narcotics Trafficking
6. Correlate and Evaluate Related Intelligence Activities
7. Etc.
The CIA agents do not have police, subpoena, or law enforcement powers. If these things must be done, they must have the FBI to do them.
Those wishing to be CIA agents must know this can be a dangerous job. You could be in shoot or be shot situation.
How to Become a CIA Agent:
The CIA has the following 5 employment areas:
1. Clandestine Service
2. Analytical Positions
3. Language Positions
4. Scientists, Engineers and Technology
5. Support Services
Although not required, to become a CIA agent, you are advised to get an undergraduate degree. A graduate degree will even give you a better chance as this is a very competitive profession. The most popular majors are Criminal Justice, Engineering, Homeland Security, Science, and Accounting. A high GPA will also give you a leg up on your competition.
You are also required to meet the following additional requirements:
1. Be More Than 18 Years Old
2. Be a U.S. Citizen
3. Foreign Language is Helpful
4. Life Experience is Helpful
5. Medical and Drug Screening
CIA Agent Salary:
CIA agents get a nice salary or pay. New agents can make as much as $30,000 per year. Experienced agents can make as much as $70,000 per year. It must be noted that the CIA keeps their salary as secret as their spying activities.
