What is a Bounty Hunter?
Dog the Bounty Hunter has become one of the popular reality television shows. This is because bounty hunting is a fast growing career. It is a career anybody interested in the criminal justice field should seriously consider.

Fugitive recovery agent, as it is also known, is the job of finding criminals who violated the conditions of their bail or jumped bail. Usually these bail agents get paid by getting a percentage of the bail money for every bail jumper they capture.

Bounty hunters are hired by bail bond agencies. Bail bond agencies act like insurance companies. They take the risk of bailing criminals out of jail. This is basically insuring the courts that they will deliver the person on a scheduled court date.

When the person fails to show up, the bail bond agency must make an effort to have the person arrested. This is when they employ the services of a fugitive recovery agent. The fugitive recovery agent will then use his skills and training to capture the fugitive.
