Airport Security Screener, TSA Schools, Training, Jobs, and Careers

What is Airport Security Screener?
If you have flown lately, you have seen airport security screeners or TSA screeners. This is another thing the events of September 11 gave us.

While they were there before, there is no doubt those events brought their jobs to the forefront of air travel.

TSA Screeners work for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). It is one of the agencies under the Department of Homeland Security.

An airport security screener provides duties that insure the security of airports, aircrafts, and the people traveling in these airports and aircrafts. They accomplish this by doing the following:

1. Screen Passengers
2. Verify Passengers’ identifications
3. Check Passenger Luggage
4. Resolve Conflicts
5. Prohibit Prohibited Passengers from Traveling
6. Monitor Suspicious Packages
7. Monitor Suspicious Passengers
8. Etc.

Some Passengers can get unruly. These types of passengers require that TSA screeners be understanding and tolerant. But this understanding and tolerance must be balanced with the ability to make decisive and effective decisions. The last thing you need is to be distracted by a passenger while a potential dangerous situation is brewing around you.
